Observatoire de la capitale

Permanent Exhibition

A Breathtaking Panorama

Looking down on Québec from a height of 221 m, the city resembles a giant scale model. Head to the top of the city’s highest tower and take in…

  • The St. Lawrence River
  • Île-d’Orléans
  • The Laurentian Mountains
  • The city’s fortifications and Citadel
  • The Plains of Abraham

The cityscape changes with the seasons: The St. Lawrence freezes in winter, parks and green spaces awake from their hibernation in spring, Québec City comes to life in the summer, and the mountains light up in fall.

An Interpretive Circuit for all the Family

In addition to the view, Observatoire de la capitale has a fun and varied interpretive circuit. Use binoculars and window stickers to identify the city’s landmarks and learn more about our history and geography in the process.
